Spring cleaning mainly involves cleaning calcium chloride sprayed during winter snow removal and accumulated fine dust. Drainage channels, collection dredging, drainage gutters, and expansion joints are cleaned at night to remove foreign substances deposited in road facilities along with cleaning tunnels, underground roads, soundproof walls, streetlights, and lamps. For the safe operation of citizens, road accessories such as protective walls and painting of lanes are also carried out, so it is expected that the section that has been cleaned will provide a clearly pleasant driving environment.
There are 12 targets for cleaning, including Olympic-daero, Gangbyeonbuk-ro, Inner Circulation Road, Seobu Expressway, National Assembly-daero, Yangjae-daero, Dongbu Expressway, Gyeongbu Expressway, Eonju-ro, Umyeonsan-ro, Bukbu Expressway, and Gangnam Circulation Road. By date, the section subject to cleaning will have partial control of one lane from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day, and some work, such as washing streetlights and painting lanes, will be carried out during the day.
